Admission Requirements

Applicants to the MS CEM program must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in engineering (from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent).

  • Academic Standing:

    • A minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) for regular admission.

    • Applicants with GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 may be considered for probationary admission.

  • English Proficiency: International applicants must provide satisfactory TOEFL or IELTS scores, in accordance with KFUPM graduate policies.

  • Graduate Admission Test: GRE may be required for non-ABET graduates or applicants with GPA below the threshold.

  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must submit an updated CV, official transcripts, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation.

  • Evaluation Process: Applications are reviewed by the Department Graduate Committee, with final approval from the Deanship of Graduate Studies.


Degree Requirements

To earn the MS in Construction Engineering & Management, students must complete 30 credit hours, distributed as follows:

  • CEM 513 – Construction Productivity and Quality Management (3 CH)

  • CEM 519 – Sustainable Construction and Carbon Management (3 CH)

  • CEM 520 – Construction Contracting and Leadership (3 CH)

  • CEM 521 – Construction Engineering and Cost Estimation (3 CH)

  • CEM 547 – BIM, Lean Construction and Digital Transformation (3 CH)

  • EM 573 – Loss Prevention & Risk Management. (3 CH)

Research Project (6 credit hours)

  • CEM 619 – Research Project (6 CH)
