Biography
Prof. Mohammad Saad Al-Homoud is a Professor of Architectural Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, since 1994. He received his B.S. degree with Honors in May 1986 from KFUPM, and M.S. degree in December 1989 from Penn State University, University Park, PA, USA and his Ph.D. degree in May 1994 from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. Prof. Al-Homoud worked as KFUPM Vice Rector for Academic Affairs from 2011-2019. He also worked as the acting Dean of Academic Development from 11/2014-3/2015, and the acting Dean of Engineering from 6/2012-2/2013. Before that he was the Dean of Scientific Research from 2005-2011, and the founding Director of the Science & Technology Unit from 2008-2011. He was the Acting Dean of Graduate Studies from 2007-2008, the Director of the Office of International Cooperation from 2007-2009, the founding Director of the Program Assessment Center at the University from 2003 until 2006. Before that he was the Director of the Office of Energy Management from 2000-2003, and the Coordinator of the ARE Co-op Program from 1998-2003. He taught many undergraduate and graduate courses at KFUPM from 1994-now.
Prof. Al-Homoud is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), USA. He published many articles in refereed international journals and conferences in his field of specialization. He managed and participated in a number of funded research projects. He supervised many master theses, senior projects and co-op students. He organized and participated in many national and international symposia and conferences and delivered several invited keynote speeches and workshops. Dr. Al-Homoud has conducted many professional training short courses and consulting projects in his field of specialization to government and private organizations.
Prof. Al-Homoud is the recipient of many awards and recognitions including being listed among the top 2% most cited world scientists in two consecutive years 2021/2022. The recipient of KFUPM Distinguished Researcher Award in 2005, the Distinguished Short Course Award in 2001, and the Distinguished Teacher Award in 1999. Dr. Al-Homoud is a member of international professional organizations such as ASHRAE and AEE. His areas of teaching and research interests include energy conservation & management in buildings, HVAC and building mechanical systems. In additions to his active contributions in his area of specialization, Dr. Al-Homoud is extensively involved in quality assurance in higher education through academic assessment and accreditation, and curricula review and development. He participated in the development of a number of projects on strategic planning at the University as well as the national levels. He was the chairman and a member of many committees inside and outside the University.

Biography
Prof. Mohammad Saad Al-Homoud is a Professor of Architectural Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, since 1994. He received his B.S. degree with Honors in May 1986 from KFUPM, and M.S. degree in December 1989 from Penn State University, University Park, PA, USA and his Ph.D. degree in May 1994 from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. Prof. Al-Homoud worked as KFUPM Vice Rector for Academic Affairs from 2011-2019. He also worked as the acting Dean of Academic Development from 11/2014-3/2015, and the acting Dean of Engineering from 6/2012-2/2013. Before that he was the Dean of Scientific Research from 2005-2011, and the founding Director of the Science & Technology Unit from 2008-2011. He was the Acting Dean of Graduate Studies from 2007-2008, the Director of the Office of International Cooperation from 2007-2009, the founding Director of the Program Assessment Center at the University from 2003 until 2006. Before that he was the Director of the Office of Energy Management from 2000-2003, and the Coordinator of the ARE Co-op Program from 1998-2003. He taught many undergraduate and graduate courses at KFUPM from 1994-now.
Prof. Al-Homoud is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), USA. He published many articles in refereed international journals and conferences in his field of specialization. He managed and participated in a number of funded research projects. He supervised many master theses, senior projects and co-op students. He organized and participated in many national and international symposia and conferences and delivered several invited keynote speeches and workshops. Dr. Al-Homoud has conducted many professional training short courses and consulting projects in his field of specialization to government and private organizations.
Prof. Al-Homoud is the recipient of many awards and recognitions including being listed among the top 2% most cited world scientists in two consecutive years 2021/2022. The recipient of KFUPM Distinguished Researcher Award in 2005, the Distinguished Short Course Award in 2001, and the Distinguished Teacher Award in 1999. Dr. Al-Homoud is a member of international professional organizations such as ASHRAE and AEE. His areas of teaching and research interests include energy conservation & management in buildings, HVAC and building mechanical systems. In additions to his active contributions in his area of specialization, Dr. Al-Homoud is extensively involved in quality assurance in higher education through academic assessment and accreditation, and curricula review and development. He participated in the development of a number of projects on strategic planning at the University as well as the national levels. He was the chairman and a member of many committees inside and outside the University.
